the united states- Living in the united states, Enrique has found a job and was sending money to Honduras to support his daughter and his girlfriend

in honduras- in Honduras Enrique was doing drugs and doing other illegal stuff the wasn’t going to school or listening to his grandmother so he made the trip north

the good- The good thing from going north was that he gets to work for money, he finally reunited with his mother and Maria Isabel is with him now

the bad- The bad things about being an illegal is he must be on constant watch to not get deported. Another is that his drinking problem was pretty bad and his daughter is still in Mexico

•After reading my potluck prediction was wrong because so far in the story he just moved to Florida. By comparing my potluck prediction to today’s reading I discovered that my prediction was wrong because he never went back to Honduras.

•The setting for today’s reading took place in Florida and Honduras. The main people involved were Enrique, Maria Isabel, Lourdes, Belky and her husband. They affected Enrique because they got him off drugs and he’s starting to save money to bring Maria Isabel to the U.S.

•In the beginning of the reading Maria Isabel is contemplating if she should leave jasmine or not. Then Enrique calls her and persuaded her to go to the U.S.

•What motivates Enrique to stay in the united states? What things make him wish to return Honduras?
He stays in the united states because him and his mother get along and she persuades him to stay.

•What factors cause conflict between Enrique and his mother? How do they seek to overcome these factors?
The conflict is caused because Enrique feels he had no mother, his true mother was his grandmother. Then they talk about how his life was back in Honduras.

•Contrast Enrique’s life in the united states with his life he left behind.
Enrique’s life is better now because he didn’t have what he has in Honduras. At first it wasn't so great but he started to get better with time, but it was better than Honduras.

•How do you feel when Maria Isabel leaves Honduras? I felt like she should have left because it was bad in Honduras for her,
but I felt like she shouldn’t have left her daughter behind.

•Once reunited, how does Enrique’s relationship with Maria Isabel progress?
He slows down on the drugs and drinking for her.

•What conflicts arise between Maria Isabel and Enrique’s family?
The conflicts that arise between Maria Isabel and Enrique's family was

•How does the book end as it began?
The book ended as it began because it started a cycle, now Enrique’s daughter is left alone in Honduras and she soon will make the journey to be with her family in the united states.

•In what state does Enrique ultimately reunite with his mother?
•On November 2, 2000, another significant event happens to Enrique. What is it? His daughter is born
•Contrast the sides of the Rio Grande. What is Enrique’s life like on his side of the river that in Mexico is called Rio Bravo?
•Describe Enrique’s final journey into the United States.
•What problems develop almost immediately when Enrique is reunited with his mother? Do these problems surprise you? He ha problems with his mother because he wants to do what he wants to and she has rules for him not to do these things

•Para 1 How was your potluck prediction right or wrong.
it was wrong because I wrote that Maria Isabel was going to leave the baby for Enrique's family and run off with another guy.
•After reading today’s reading my potluck prediction was wrong because of Enrique got in a fight with his mother and that kind of changed his way and started saving his money instead of wasting it because he wants to send more money to Honduras for his daughter.
•By comparing my potluck prediction to today's reading, I discovered that my prediction was wrong because Maria Isabel didn’t leave their daughter for another guy.

•Para 2 Where does this take place?
The story takes place in both the united states and Honduras.
Who were the main people involved, how do they effect Enrique's journey?
The main people involved were Enrique's mother, grand mother, Maria Isabel, belky, and his daughter. His mother effected by teaching him what he was doing was wrong and that influenced him to quit sniffing glue and drinking.

•Para 3 the reading started when Enrique hit rock bottom and started to sniff glue. Then he got in a fight with his mother and he left his mothers house to go think about stuff. After that he got pulled over for going to fast and having an open container in his car. later then he goes to jail. Then he had to pay a fine. Then he starts to do better for himself and his family in the US and Honduras

•Another video I watched was called the golden venture. It was about Chinese immigrants who came to America. First is a man who lives here illegally and his identity is unknown. He talks about the money he had to pay the smuggler. The smugglers are called snake heads. Some guy says he attempted three times and spent at least 40,000 dollars each try. That’s a lot of money. Then there was the immigrants that were jailed for no reason then four years later they were let out on parole because Bill Clinton okayed to let them go.
